Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

These terms govern use of the OS FOR SCHOOLS platform. By creating a school account or using the platform as a member of a school, you agree to these terms.

Who these terms are for

"The platform" means the OS FOR SCHOOLS website, applications, and services. A "school" is the account created for an institution; the school owner is responsible for that account. Staff, students, and parents or guardians who are given access by a school use the platform under that school's account and these terms.

Creating a school account

Creating a school requires a school name and an owner email address, which must be verified before the account can be used to hold real school records. The person who verifies ownership is responsible for the accuracy of the information they provide and for keeping their login credentials secure.

Acceptable use

You (and any school using the platform) agree not to:

  • Use the platform for any institution or purpose you are not authorized to represent.
  • Enter information about a person without a lawful basis to do so.
  • Attempt to access another school's data, or any account you are not authorized to use.
  • Interfere with the platform's normal operation, including attempting to bypass its security controls.
  • Use the platform to send unlawful, harassing, or fraudulent communications.

School responsibilities

A school is responsible for the accuracy of the records it enters, for the conduct of the staff members it grants access to, and for having any consent or legal basis required to hold student and parent information in its jurisdiction. We provide the system a school uses to keep those records; the school remains the party responsible for the records themselves, in the same way it would be responsible for its own paper files or spreadsheets.

Payments and billing

Paid plans are billed according to the plan, currency, and billing cycle shown to a school at the time it subscribes. A school can review its current plan and pricing at any time from within its workspace. We may change pricing for future billing periods; we will give notice before a change takes effect for an existing subscription.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate a school's access if it materially breaches these terms — for example, by using the platform unlawfully or attempting to compromise its security — and, where practical, will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue first. A school may close its own account at any time; see our Privacy Policy for how records are handled after closure.

Availability

We aim to keep the platform available and reliable, but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, and will aim to minimize disruption when we do.

Changes to these terms

If we make a material change to these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after a change means you accept the updated terms.
